What's New?!

Hello, Stampers!
This is my second post for today...and it was for a color challenge of black, white, and yellow.  I used the Six-Sided Sampler stamps from Stampin' Up! in Memento black and Hello Honey.  I die cut the "hello" sentiment out of Hello Honey cardstock and went over it with Wink of Stella glitter gold.  It doesn't show up here, but it sure is shiny and glittery!
A simple and fun one-layer card!  I've already mailed it to a sweet friend of mine.  Hope you like it!  Please leave a comment below ~ I read each and every one and so appreciate them!  I adore my blog fans!
Look forward to more inspiration tomorrow!
               Hugs!   Sharon

Cleaned Out The Cobwebs and Back to Stamping!

Wow, how one's life can turn upside down all at once...and for so long!  I am so happy to be back posting and making cards, and my Mojo is in full swing now!  I've been getting a lot of ideas from Pinterest and started off with these two.  I just punched a butterfly image on each banner and stamped some sentiments, popped them up on a card base and that's it!  I've already mailed one of them.  I'll be back very soon to post some more.
     Hugs to you all
        and Happy Stampin'!

Happy Mother's Day! Revisiting an Older Creation...

I wish all you mothers out there a very Happy Mother's Day!  Today I am re-posting an older card I made quite some time back, but decided to send this one to my dear MIL, who is a good friend as well.  I wanted to send her a little comfort on this first Mother's Day without her only son {my late husband}.  All that aside, here is the card I sent her...

I made this for a "sentiment only" card when I was on the Squigglefly Design Team last year.  I hope you like it...it was the first time I made paper roses and they were so much fun!
Hope you all have a wonderful and happy day today.
Making new cards to post soon...
Hugs and mwah!

Very Sad News

A sad, sad post for me...I have been gone a while because my love of my life, my dear husband, Bruce, passed away suddenly on Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2013.  He was only 53 and had congestive heart failure and was going down fast, but suddenly fell on our bedroom floor with a pulmonary embolism.  The paramedics did all they could to help him.  I just thought I would let you know that I haven't deserted you, but had a very real reason to be away so long.
Bruce had a very successful law practice that will take me a while to assist to close as well as beginning his succession so that I may work to close that practice.
Please pray for me and my dear, sweet 13 yo son at this sad crossroad in our lives.  I cherish all your prayers, concerns and comfort during our time of loss.
Keep in touch, my sweet stamping friends, as I know God has brought us all together to do things in good and bad times with each other.
I love and miss you all.  Hope to be back sometime within the next couple of weeks.
Yours in Christ,
Sharon and Daniel Jones
RIP D. Bruce Jones, our beloved Husband and Father.

My dear Bruce is on the far left of this picture, an outing we had about a year ago with our grandchildren.  Our son is the shortest boy next to his dad on the left.  I am the one in red.

Tile Technique

Hello, Stampers!
Today I bring you a card that uses the tile technique.  I have seen it done several times, but never tried it...and is it ever easy!  First take a look...

Does this look cool, or what?!!  I had so much fun doing it!  I just used a little of the Sycamore Street design paper, and made each cut 1" square and re-arranged them the same way they were cut.  I really like the way it turned out!  After I scored the Whisper White cardstock, I adhered them on it with liquid glue so all the tiles were on really well, then I stamped my VersaMark pad all over it and poured clear embossing powder on it.  I then used my heat tool to finish it and it came out shiny like this...

It shows up so much better in person!  I love the way it looks and feels!  Just like tiles.  I layered this on Baja Breeze card stock, then Summer Starfruit, and then a Rich Razzleberry square card base.  I was going to add something else, but I think it looks better by itself in all it's glory!
If you want the measurements, e-mail me and I'll get them to you.  I'm not at home right now, so I don't have them.
Til later, stampers, have a wonderful day!!  I will try and show some other techniques and challenges I'll join for your viewing pleasure!

I am entering this into Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - Playful Patterns.

Die Cut Challenge for Stamp Nation

Hi, there, stampers!!
I have entered this card for a challenge at Stamp Nation.  The challenge is to use at least 3 die cuts {or punches if you don't have dies}.  I got to playing around with my new design paper from the Sent With Love bundle by Stampin' Up!  Don't you just adore it?  I used my Floral Frames Framelits dies and distressed the edges with Midnight Muse.  Layered them together and used my new Postage Stamp punch to punch out the little heart postage stamp in the same design paper {there are so many little shapes to work with!} and popped it up with dimensionals in the center.  Then I popped the whole thing up onto the center of my square card card after I triple-tied some twine tieing it in the center and glueing it onto the base.  I really like the way it turned out!  The items I used are listed below.
Until later,

Cardstock:  Whisper White (100730), Sent with Love Designer Series Paper (132182)
Ink:  Midnight Muse (126860)
Ribbon:  Calypso Coral Baker's Twine (125573)

A New Baby in our Family!

Hi, stampers!
I just wanted to let you know, after 2 1/2 days of anxiously waiting, we have a brand new Grandson!!  I didn't think he was going to make it...I know how an anxious new father feels now...teehee!  But we are so excited...we will be traveling to Colorado to see him and the new parents next month.  This sweet child is my dear daughter, April's first baby.  She is 35 and so is her dear husband. All is fine and poor April is totally exhaused, but very, very happy!
Thank you, everyone, for your prayers and well-wishes!  You are all my bestest friends in the world!!
Mimi {aka Sharon ;D}

Update...here is our new Baby Grandson:
We have been waiting for him a long time and now he's finally here!!!   We are so proud! ;D

Welcome Sweet Little One

Hello, my dear blog friends...I'm finally back after family emergencies are finally starting to settle down a bit.  Maybe now I can start blogging more regularly.  Anyway, on to my card: (pardon the pic, it's with my Iphone...camera is down for the time being)

I got to thinking of babies because my daughter is due this week with her first one...yeehaw, I can hardly wait.  April and John live in Colorado, so we're going up next month to see them and the new baby.  I'm bringing children's books so I can hold and read to the new little one.
I found a stamp I've had for a long time that hasn't seen any love so I decided the use the sweet baby carriage from the set "Vintage Baby" by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Isn't it just adorable?  I inked it up in Gumball Green, then layered it onto some Gumball Green cardstock.  I also took a strip of the same cardstock and embossed it with my Stampin' Up! Adorning Accents edgelits - see how beautifully it embosses?  I attached it to my Whisper White card base, and stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set in the Gumball Green ink.  Then I attached the matted carriage image with dimensionals and added small pearls to the centers of the wheels.  I also added a larger pearl to the upper right corner to balance it all.  The stamps may not be Stampin' Up! but everything else is!  How do you like it?
Now to wait on my sweet April to give me a call...wait for it...wait for it...still waiting... ;D
Hugs to you all,

Stamp Nation Challenge #41 - Masking

Yay, I love weekends!  Especially when the guys are gone camping and fishing, it's nice and quiet and I get to be creative!
I made a card for Stamp Nation's CAS Challenge using the masking technique and here is my take on it...
First, I stamped my sentiment from the Henry Says stamp set (#128090w) or (#128093c) in the Spring catalogue onto Whisper White cardstock.  Then I added post-it notes over the sentiment to stamp my designs called Madison Avenue stamp set (129657c) in the Sale-A-Bration brochure in Summer Starfruit (126991) and in Marina Mist (126962) from the Annual catalogue.  I drew straight lines with a ruler and my Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker (119679).
I love the way this card turned out!
Join us at Stamp Nation and check out the new layout...so much easier to navigate and Catherine Pooler and the Sistahs there are so awesome and friendly to help you out in any problems you are having with stamps and techniques.  They are hilarious to be friends with.  You couldn't ask for a better group of companions!
    Until later....Hugs!

CAS - Just Because

I had to CASE this card from Catherine Pooler at Stamp Nation for a challenge. Here is the link to her card...http://www.thestampnation.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5192&d=1357586834&thumb=1 . I changed a couple of things up, but I really like how it turned out.  It uses the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and the coordinating Framelits as well as the Vintage Verses stamps.  They can all be found in our new Spring Catalogue.  I first cut my panel and distressed the edges a little with Crumb Cake.  Then I added my stamped and embossed banners and heart and overlapped them just off the top edge and added a rhinestone to the heart.  So cute!  I stamped the sentiment from my Vintage Verses set in a chocolate ink I had in my stash and used a swirl I had on hand in Crumb Cake to add a little more pizazz.  Then I popped up my panel with dimensionals onto my card stock.  I am so loving the way my valentine card came out!  What do you think?
Don't forget that the new Sale-a-Bration starts tomorrow at Stampin' Up! and you can buy these items in my online store at http://sharonjones_51.stampinup.net .  You can click the link and it will take you there in a jiffy and you can browse all you want to see what new items we have!  Wonderful sale going on and this is the biggest that Stampin' Up! offers!!  Woot, woot!
Hugs to you all and I'll be busy stamping a lot more items from the Spring catty and the wonderful Sale-a-Bration brochure!  If you need any catalogues, just e-mail me at the address below my name!
Don't forget that I read all your comments!  Love 'em!

PPA Color Challenge...Those Who Bring Sunshine

Happy Sunday, Stampers!
This week Pals Paper Art has a color challenge...Melon Mambo, Basic Gray, and Basic Black.  Here is what I came up with:

I used this beautiful sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set on pg. 21 from our new Spring Catalog and stamped it in Melon Mambo.  Cut it out with a round die and added 3 rhinestones.  I embossed some Basic Gray cardstock with the Fancy Fan embossing folder {love the texture}.  (You may see it better if you click on the image.)  I added the very pretty Designer Builder Brad (#129329) on pg. 12 from the new Spring Catalog and added a Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel (#129324) from pg. 8.  I tied a black organza bow from my stash and layered all on some Melon Mambo cardstock and then onto some Basic Black cardstock base.  This is such a fun challenge!
You can go to my Stampin' Up! store and purchase all these items...just go to stampinup.com, click on the demonstrator tab and type in my name, Sharon Jones.
Why not join in at Pals Paper Arts and let us see your wonderful creations...if you need some more inspiration, the Pals will have plenty at their site to show you!
      Until later...Happy Stamping!
